When we originally visited Guatemala in 2017 we left without having the pleasure of hiking Antigua's infamous Volcan Acatenango, so we always swore we would return to tackle the epic challenge.

And so return we did, but as a family of 3. Together we took on the hike of a lifetime under the watchful eyes of the Soy Tours team of guides. One tip we forgot to include was accommodation. Booking.com does not work and so if you want to secure a Casa Particular before arriving, look at Airbnb (you will need a VPN when there). Book 1-2 nights max via Airbnb and then extend directly with the host. This way the host will receive full payment without having to pay Airbnb fees (better for them!). Alternatively, ask hosts for contacts for other Casas.

Finally we got to celebrate Dia de Muertos, Mexcio's incredibly inspiring Day of the Dead celebrations in non other than Oaxaca!!

We based ourselves in Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán where we visited the Xoxo Panteón Xoxo and Panteon Viejo Xoxo. We took to Centro Oaxaca to experience pan de muertos and marvel at the city's decorations, before having our face painted - a La Catrina - and joined in with every comparsa (parade) we could find around the different neighbourhoods, such as Jalatlaco oaxaca.

Having A Howl With Over 900 Dogs in Costa Rica || Land of the Strays (Territorio de Zaguates)

Passing through Costa Rica meant we could tick off a a biggie on our bucketlist.

As avid dog lovers, meeting, cuddling, chasing and hiking with over 900 dogs was a dream come true.

A massive thanks to the staff and volunteers at Territorio de Zaguates for letting us join them on their weekend walk dog walk. And for all their incredible work at this very happy, no-kill rescue shelter.

The hardest part wasn't just meeting the many poor pups who were mistreated in their previous life, but trying to leave without adopting at least three of them.

Argentina: The Ungraceful Guide Goes To Jesus Land (Tierra Santa)

When one half of The Ungraceful Guide looks like Jesus Christ, and we discover the world of Tierra Santa a.k.a Jesus Land, or as we like to call it 'Christnyland', it seemed rude not to go and see for ourselves.

Found in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Tierra Santa is a religious theme park dedicated to the teachings of the bible. A scale replica of Jerusalem, with even the staff in character and costume, witness scenes from the bible brought to life including the birth, the last supper and the resurrection.

Despite us being in no way religious, this was a fun day out and as you can see...Jaysis certainly seemed to enjoy it.
